Injection molding in our life

Nowadays, Plastic Injection Molding is used very popular for a lot types of products in daily life as well as in industry fields. In 1872, John Hyatt developed the first plastic injeciton molding machines. Hair brushes, pins or collar stays are the first things which were produced with the injection molding method. The plastic industry also grew very fast since 1940 when the demand of mass-produced goods with low cost raised. In 1946, the creation of the screw type plastic injection appliance was introduced to the globe. After that, plastic injection molds were used more and more, which could be applied for various types of goods, even buttons or combs.

In modern life, the process is more complex and the injection mold method is applied in many industry fields. Basically, Injection Molding Machines are quite simple and easy to understand. The way of using materials brought one of the major developments, and there tens of thousands of different designs which are obtainable for making a lot types of plastics which are used in daily life and industries.

- Aerospace: we can use thermoplastics to in making space shuttles and modules.

- Automotive: There are various plastic parts in a car, and we can use injection molding method to make these parts.

- Consumer products: Daily life items like brushes or buttons are also made with injection molding method.

- Construction: There are some types of faux metals and woods that are just plastic.

- Medical: It is easy for us to see plastic things in medical industry which are produced with injection molding method: platic vial, hazard boxes, containers,…

- Packaging: Such as plastic containers or boxes.

- Plumbing: Showers and toilet also have plastic parts which are made with injection molding.

- Toys: Of course, many toys are made from plastic with injection molding method.

Therefore, we can see that injection molding is very important for our modern life. Even though now there is 3D printing technology which also can make a lot types of plastic products for us, it is still quite expensive and injection molding is much better for manufacturing, especially mass production.
